Why it's different

Why gym marketing is different

Three things decide whether gym ads turn into members.

People buy a trial, not a membership

Few people sign a membership from an ad. A trial week, an intro session or a program launch gets them through the door first, and your coaches do the rest.

Speed of follow-up decides who shows up

A lead who hears back quickly is far more likely to book than one who waits a day. The follow-up system matters as much as the ad.

Retention is half the job

Every member who stays is one you don't have to replace. Content, reviews and referrals keep existing members engaged and bring their friends.

What we do

What we do for gyms and fitness studios

Each service can be hired on its own, or together in our All-in-One Growth Package.

Facebook and Instagram ads

Local campaigns with lead forms or landing pages, built around a trial or intro offer, with retargeting for people who showed interest.

Instagram content

Reels, coach introductions and member stories that show what training with you is like. The posts that do best organically become ads.

A website that sells trials

A fast, mobile-first site with clear offers, schedules and online booking, so a visitor can sign up without calling.

Google Business Profile and reviews

A complete listing and a steady stream of reviews, so you show up when people search for a gym nearby.

Proven results

How Alpha Gym grew from 10 to 350 clients

A private training gym with limited visibility, before and after Meta ads and Instagram content.

“Choosing zimapeak for marketing service was one of the best decisions I made for my business. Their tailored strategies and personalized approach have helped my gym attract more leads and convert them into loyal customers.”

Offers

Offers that work for gyms, without racing to the bottom on price

A discount gets people to look. A low-risk first step gets them through the door. These are the offers gym campaigns are usually built around.

Trial week or intro pass

A short, fixed-length trial lets people try classes or the gym floor before they commit. It works best when the trial ends with a booked conversation about a membership.

Intro session with a coach

One session with a trainer, often with a goal-setting chat. Strong for personal and private training, where the coach is what people are buying.

Challenge or program launch

A 4- to 8-week program with a start date gives people a reason to sign up now, and a group that keeps them coming.

Referral offer

Members bring a friend for a free session or a shared reward. Referred members already know someone at your gym, which helps them stay.

Whatever the offer, it should read the same in the ad, the form or landing page and the first message the lead gets.

Budget

How much should a gym spend on marketing?

It depends on three things: what a new member is worth to you over a year, how many new members you need each month, and how many other gyms and studios advertise near you. We'll suggest a starting budget for your area on the call.

On Meta (Facebook and Instagram) we recommend at least $500 a month in ad spend, so campaigns have enough data to learn from. That's separate from our management fee, with Meta Ads plans from $750 a month. If you're starting smaller, put the budget behind one offer and one audience rather than spreading it thin.

How it works

Our process

What working with us looks like for a gym or studio.

  1. 01

    Audit

We look at your offer, your Instagram, your website and your Google listing, and how leads are followed up today.

  2. 02

    Offer and creative

We agree on the offer to lead with and produce the ads and content around it.

  3. 03

    Launch

Campaigns, lead forms or landing pages, and tracking go live.

  4. 04

    Follow-up system

Every new lead gets a fast reply and a clear next step, so enquiries turn into booked first sessions.

  5. 05

    Optimize and retain

We cut what doesn't convert, put more budget behind what does, and use content and reviews to keep members coming back.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does gym marketing cost?

Two costs: ad spend, paid directly to Meta or Google, and our management fee. Our Meta Ads management plans start at $750 a month, and we recommend at least $500 a month in Meta ad spend. If you'd rather have ads, content and a website handled together, the All-in-One Growth Package is $1,499 a month, cancel anytime.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for gyms?

They can work well, because most people choose a gym or trainer close to home, and Meta lets you choose the locations your ads are shown in. What decides results is the offer (a trial or intro session usually beats a cold membership pitch) and how fast you follow up with each lead.

How quickly will I see new members?

Ads can bring enquiries within the first weeks after launch, but how many become members depends on your offer, your follow-up and your local competition. Alpha Gym grew from 10 to 350 private clients in two months; we don't guarantee that result for every gym.

Do you work with personal trainers and small studios?

Yes. Our gym case study is a private training studio, and the same approach works for boutique studios and independent trainers with one location.

Do I need a new website?

Not always. Ads can send people to a simple landing page or a lead form inside Facebook and Instagram. If your site makes it hard to sign up for a trial or book a session, we'll tell you, and we can build one that does.

Do you lock me into a contract?

No. We work month to month, so you stay because it's working.
